Crewsaver Childs Spiral Foam Collared Buoyancy Aid, 100N Full Foam PFD “Lifejacket”. All sizes of the Crewsaver Spiral offer 100N buoyancy however the Large Child and Junior version are rated as a 50N Buoyancy Aid.

These larger sizes of the Child’s Spiral used to be rated as a lifejacket as well however the standards have been upped so although they still offer 100n of buoyancy the speed the jacket rotates a casualty is not so quick and as such they are only rated as ISO 12402-5 approved 50N buoyancy aids.
However they still retain 100N of foam buoyancy and are a great solution for those who want the reassurance of a jacket offering a head collar and airway support compared to a standard 50N buoyancy aid.
The Spiral is fitted with a foam collar for head support and has crotch straps which must be used ensuring a smaller child does not slide through the buoyancy aid.
The Crewsaver Spiral is a great way to introduce kids to water safety and get them boating. Remember the best way to get children wearing lifejackets at sea is for the adults on the boat to be wearing them too!
